Our History
The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Indonesia in Uganda was officially launched at the Simba Automotives building on Kira Road, bringing together senior diplomats and leaders from across Uganda and East Africa to mark the ties of friendship between Indonesia and Uganda.
Mr. Shukla received his official appointment certificate as Honorary Consul, signed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, formally entrusting him to represent Indonesia's interests in Uganda.
The consulate was inaugurated with H.E. Dr. Mohamad Hery Saripudin, then Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Kenya, Uganda, Somalia and the DRC (Nov 2020–Feb 2025), presiding — establishing Uganda's first dedicated Indonesian consular presence.
